Taming dependencies conflicts for 70 Google Cloud Java client libraries

Developer Relations Engineer (Java)

• Owner of the Google Cloud Platform BigQuery Java client libraries (SDKs) -- responsible for maintaining and implementing new features to continuously improve developer experience. Some work done are:
  • implement fast query path;
  • add connectionId support for external data sources;
  • add support for additional time partitioning intervals;
  • add BIGNUMERIC support;
  • fix to throw jobexception for invalid multiple statements query.
• Work cross-product and with customers (Spotify, Niantic) to improve dependency management across 80+ googleapis Java client libraires.
  • Proposed and led the effort to implement the Google Cloud Shared Dependencies BOM and the Maven Flatten Plugin in all the googleapis Java repos.
• Work cross-team to improve googleapis Github repos CI/CD performance.
  • Proposed and migrated 78 googleapis Java repos from running Kokoro to Github Actions. The team continues to develop more Github Actions workflows after the migration.
  • Proposed and implemented autorelease Github Action workflow for all eligible googleapis Java client libraries. Client library releases are now 90%+ automated.
• Contribute to the Apache Maven Flatten Plugin open source project.
  • Past contributions include a fix that was deployed across all the googleapis Java client libraries which helped eliminate loss of transitive dependency problem by flattening all the published pom files.
• Promote diversity and inclusion. Support hiring efforts.
  • Hosted two Software Engineer interns as their manager. Both received and accepted FTE offers at the end of their internships.
  • Budget lead of Women@, one of the largest employee-formed organizations at Google.

Software Engineer

• Lead a team of ten engineers (based in NY/ LN/ Bangalore) and contribute as a UI engineer to develop a dynamic bond issuance application(built in Angular/ Java/ Sybase).
• The application is now used by over 500 users globally and it supports live updates (MQ listener/ Lightstreamer) from all users. The complex entitlement model architected permissions users securely based on their role, relationship, and location.
• Manage scrum and project schedules using Agile(Jira).
• Handle biweekly production releases(Jenkins/ VMS/ Autosys/ Sybase).
• Conduct user teach-in sessions and provide production support by debugging using Splunk and AppDynamics.
• Monitor app usage using Seismic.
• Coordinate project goals and report regularly to management by collating and analyzing data using Excel and SQL.

Web Developer

• Provide technical support to faculty and staff in Drupal.
• Build and maintain more than 300 webpages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and SQL. Cornell CIPA Website

Software Engineer

• Worked on innovative cloud architecture projects including Apache Cassandra deployment on
virtual machines using Chef and Vagrant, Intel Cloud Cosbench adaptor development using
Java, debugging Java-based UI, developing IoT UI using jQuery and REST API for Raspberry Pi
devices.
• Helped manage and build UI for a Kaiser Permanente and UStream collabrative streaming
platform from requirement gathering to platform delivery.

UI Engineer

• Created, designed, and prototyped the MasterCard developer zone platform using Axure.
• Prototyped the MasterPass Wallet Selector using JavaScript, PHP, and SQL. Mastercard Masterpass checkout platform HTML prototype
• Participated in user-testing and usability research.

• Implemented the Chinese version of the company's website on WordPress with two other remote engineers. Ingenius Prep Chinese Website

• Actively contributed to the acceleration of internet-based startups.
• Developed social media login functionality using Hybridauth, PHP, and SQL for startup company Mass Mosaic (now Anyshare). Anyshare Website
• Created search engine for Mass Mosaic (now Anyshare) using PHP, SQL and Leaflet.
• Incorporated natural language processing library in Node.js to improve search engine built in MongoDB.
• Assisted in various business aspects of startups including marketing, social media campaigning, and so on.
