Developer Relations Engineer (Java)

Google | New York, NY
  • Owner of the Google Cloud Platform BigQuery Java client libraries (SDKs) -- responsible for maintaining and implementing new features to continuously improve developer experience. Some work done are:
  • Work cross-product and with customers (Spotify, Niantic) to improve dependency management across 80+ googleapis Java client libraires.
  • Work cross-team to improve googleapis Github repos CI/CD performance.
    • Proposed and migrated 78 googleapis Java repos from running Kokoro to Github Actions. The team continues to develop more Github Actions workflows after the migration.
    • Proposed and implemented autorelease Github Action workflow for all eligible googleapis Java client libraries. Client library releases are now 90%+ automated.
  • Contribute to the Apache Maven Flatten Plugin open source project.
    • Past contributions include a fix that was deployed across all the googleapis Java client libraries which helped eliminate loss of transitive dependency problem by flattening all the published pom files.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion. Support hiring efforts.
    • Hosted two Software Engineer interns as their manager. Both received and accepted FTE offers at the end of their internships.
    • Budget lead of Women@, one of the largest employee-formed organizations at Google.

  • Lead a team of ten engineers (based in NY/ LN/ Bangalore) and contribute as a UI engineer to develop a dynamic bond issuance application(built in Angular/ Java/ Sybase).
  • The application is now used by over 500 users globally and it supports live updates (MQ listener/ Lightstreamer) from all users. The complex entitlement model architected permissions users securely based on their role, relationship, and location.
  • Manage scrum and project schedules using Agile(Jira).
  • Handle biweekly production releases(Jenkins/ VMS/ Autosys/ Sybase).
  • Conduct user teach-in sessions and provide production support by debugging using Splunk and AppDynamics.
  • Monitor app usage using Seismic.
  • Coordinate project goals and report regularly to management by collating and analyzing data using Excel and SQL.
